Helping to inspire artistic flair and creativity in children of all ages Crayola have been at the forefront of innovative art tools, creative toys and crafting activities for over 100 years!

Founded in 1885, cousins Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith took over Edwin’s father’s pigment business and after a few years of manufacturing and selling red oxide pigment used as barn paint and carbon black used in car tires realised a need for safe, affordable wax crayons.

So in 1903, after months of experimenting, the fist box of Crayola Crayons rolled off the production line and the classic kids’ art tool was born!
