Now part of Haribo, MAOAM was formed way back in 1900 when entrepreneur Edmund Münster took over the Düsseldorf liquorice factory. For almost 30 years Münster continued to manufacture primarily liquorice products before obtaining a license to supply a fruity chew in 1930, and so MAOAM was born!

The chew, which was wrapped in wax paper, proved to be a huge success, so much so it’s still incredibly popular today!
