Here at Harrison’s Direct we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and positively contributing to our local community. As part of our dedication to sustainability, we are actively pursuing innovative strategies to minimise our carbon footprint.
Our journey includes working towards B-Corp and ISO 9001 certification, a reflection of our pledge to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance. Additionally, we are evaluating our carbon footprint and identifying actionable steps to reduce our emissions.
Below, we outline our ongoing initiatives, which will be updated regularly to reflect our progress and ensure transparency on this important project.
Our environmental initiatives will focus on transforming our operations and making a positive impact on the planet. We currently have four main environmental initiatives in place, with plans being set out to increase these efforts.
We have now transitioned to a 100% electric fleet as part of our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. By switching to EV’s, we have made the conscious decision to remove CO2 emissions completely from our fleet.
We are already harnessing the power of renewable energy to meet our operational needs. We have partnered with 100% renewable energy providers to ensure a sustainable and reliable energy supply that’s also kind to the planet.
We partner with Feefo to fund tree-planting projects in return for honest reviews from our customers, to help decrease the devastating effects of deforestation. For every review left, a tree is planted on behalf of our customer. For more details, check out our dedicated Treefo page.
We’re delighted to announce we have achieved Zero to Landfill, ensuring that no waste from our operations ends up in landfill. All our waste is reused, recycled or converted into energy. We will continue our efforts to reduce waste generation in the future.
Our social initiatives are centred on making a meaningful impact in the community, with a strong focus on charitable giving. We currently support an array of charitable organisations through donations, volunteering and partnerships and we will continue to build on this in the coming year.
Supporting charities in our local area is at the heart of our commitment to ESG values. We believe that fostering strong communities is essential for sustainable growth and meaningful change. That’s why we proudly support nearby organisations such as Pendleside Hospice, Northwest Air Ambulance and Padiham Parish Food Bank to name but a few. Together, we can create a brighter, more compassionate future for everyone in our community.
As a business, we have developed a number of key policies, including those on equal opportunities, anti-discrimination, and a comprehensive health & safety policy. These are all outlined in our employee handbook, and we continuously ensure our teams receive thorough training.
Looking ahead, we are developing additional policies, such as a Supplier Code of Conduct, a Modern Slavery policy, and an Environmental Management System, all of which will be implemented throughout 2025.
